Eglinton Avenue East, Warden to Birchmount

Dentist near the Golden Mile, Scarborough

If you live near Eglinton or work in the Golden Mile’s shops and offices, our office on Danforth Avenue is about 4 km south down Warden Avenue. We offer evening and Saturday hours, same-day emergencies and the full range of general dentistry.

From the Golden Mile to Danforth and Warden

The Golden Mile runs along Eglinton Avenue East, east of Victoria Park Avenue. During the Second World War, a large munitions plant stood southeast of Eglinton and Warden. After the war the township turned the land into one of Canada’s first planned industrial parks, and the name Golden Mile followed. Today it is a busy shopping and business strip, and Line 5 Eglinton now serves it, with the Golden Mile stop at Warden Avenue.

Our office is at the south end of Warden Avenue, on Danforth: Unit 107 at 3520 Danforth Avenue, in the building known locally as Terrace on Danforth. It is about 4 km from Eglinton and Warden, with parking behind the building and step-free access.

Getting here from the Golden Mile

  • By TTC bus: the 68 Warden runs along Warden Avenue between Eglinton and Warden station. From the station, the 69 Warden South continues toward the Danforth area. Check the TTC trip planner for current times.
  • By car: straight down Warden Avenue, about 4 km, usually around 10 minutes outside rush hour. Park behind the building.
  • From work: if you work along Eglinton, an evening appointment (until 7 pm on four weekdays) fits after your shift without taking time off.

Care Golden Mile residents and workers ask for

Everything in general dentistry

Starting dental care in a new neighbourhood

Moving is a good moment to set up dental care properly. Here is a simple order that works for most people:

  1. Collect your records. Ask your previous dentist for recent X-rays and notes. If you were treated abroad, bring whatever you have.
  2. Check your coverage. Find your workplace plan details, or check whether you qualify for the Canadian Dental Care Plan.
  3. Book an examination. We check teeth, gums, bite and soft tissues, and take the X-rays we need.
  4. Deal with urgent items first. Pain, infection or a broken tooth comes before cosmetic or elective work.
  5. Set your recall. We suggest how often to return based on your own gum and cavity risk, not a fixed rule.

Insurance, CDCP and estimates

We bill most insurers directly and accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan. We explain what your plan is expected to cover and give you a written estimate before treatment. See insurance and billing and CDCP dentist.

Helpful guides

Long workdays, grinding and jaw pain

Many people who work long shifts or sit at a desk all day clench or grind their teeth without realizing it, especially at night. Signs include:

  • Waking with a sore jaw, a dull headache at the temples or tired facial muscles
  • Teeth that look flatter, chipped at the edges or more sensitive than before
  • Clicking or popping when you open your mouth wide
  • A partner who hears grinding at night

A custom night guard, made from impressions or a scan of your teeth, spreads the force and protects the enamel while you sleep. Daytime habits help too: notice when your teeth are touching, keep your lips together and teeth slightly apart, and take short breaks from the screen. See night guards and TMJ care.

Straightening and whitening as an adult

  • Clear aligners or braces? Clear aligners are removable and less visible but need to be worn about 22 hours a day. Fixed braces work all the time without relying on you to wear them. We help you weigh the two.
  • Whitening: professional whitening is planned around your gums and any fillings or crowns, which do not change colour. A check-up and cleaning first gives a good starting point.
  • Timing: if you plan to straighten and whiten, straighten first.

Line 5, the 68 Warden and the trip south

The Golden Mile has changed quickly. Line 5 Eglinton opened on 8 February 2026, and its Golden Mile stop sits at Warden Avenue. That has made the trip south to our office simpler for many people who live or work along Eglinton.

From the Golden Mile stop, the 68 Warden bus runs south to Warden station. Closer to the office, the 69 Warden South and the 113 Danforth run within about 400 m of our door at 3520 Danforth Ave. Warden station is about 2 km from us. Its redevelopment began in November 2023, so allow a few extra minutes around the station and check the TTC trip planner before you leave.

If you drive, there is parking behind the building, which makes it easier to come straight from a shift.

Tips for fitting care around shift work:

  • Book an evening slot on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, when we are open until 7 pm, or a Saturday between 10 am and 4 pm.
  • Group a cleaning and a small filling into one longer visit when it makes sense.
  • Keep a note of night grinding or jaw soreness to mention at your check-up.

For a sudden toothache or a broken tooth, call as early in the day as you can. Our emergency dentist page explains same-day visits, and you do not need to be an existing patient.
