Your first visit to Dental Care For You
Everything you need to know before you come in: what to bring, what happens, how insurance works and how to find us. No surprises, and no pressure.
Before your visit
When you call, we will ask what brought you in and whether anything about your health or mobility needs planning for. If you are anxious, please say so. We will book extra time and can arrange a consultation-only visit first.
Please bring
- A list of your current medications and supplements, including doses
- Your dental insurance card or plan details, if you have coverage
- Any recent dental X-rays, or the name of your previous dentist so we can request them
- A photo ID
- A friend or family member, if you would like company
At your first visit
Your first visit is the beginning of a partnership. Our primary goal is to listen to your needs and to find the right solution for you.
We talk
About what you want, your medical history, medications, and any past dental experiences that still bother you.
We examine
Teeth, gums and mouth, and where indicated the head, neck and jaw joints, using photographs, measurements and X-rays only as needed.
We explain
Dr. Fadavi and the hygienist go through the results with you, answer your questions, and describe the ways your situation could be approached.
Plan on about an hour for a first visit with a cleaning, longer if there is a lot to discuss. You will leave with a written treatment plan and estimate if any treatment is recommended.
Insurance and payment
Bring your plan details and we will explain how your coverage applies to the treatment recommended. If you do not have insurance, you receive a written estimate before any treatment starts, so there are no surprises.
